The Mud Is Not the Problem
Misty Lucas | MAR 15
Something happens in March that nobody really talks about. The holidays are long gone, the shine of a new has faded, and you are still just tired.
The ground is soft and soggy. The days are longer now but your energy has not caught up. You keep waiting to feel like yourself again and you're wondering if this is just...life.
The spring Equinox lands on March 20th and it's one of two moments in the year where light and dark sit in perfect balance. Not one winning over the other. Both present. Both necessary.
That feels true to life, right? You do not get the bloom without the buried seed. You do not get the green without the grey. The end of winter is not a failure of motivation. It's the last layer of the process. And you're in it.
Still Shores exists for exactly this season. Not the polished, put-together version of you. The one standing at the edge of something, not quite sure how to begin again.
This is where you start.
Get Back Into Your Body (Your Head Has Had Enough)
Winter is a thinking season. We plan, we worry, we scroll, we cope. By March, most of us are living almost entirely from the neck up and the body is just carrying us around like a reluctant suitcase.
Spring energy asks you to drop back down. This does not have to be a full yoga class on day one. It can be five minutes of slow movement in your kitchen. A walk where you actually feel your feet. A stretch that makes you go oh there it is because you forgot that muscle existed.
At Still Shores, this is exactly what our flow and somatic classes are designed for. Not performance. Not fitness goals. Just the simple, grounding act of coming back into the body that has been quietly waiting for you all winter.
Your body is not behind. It has just been holding a lot. Moving is how it gets to let some of that go.
Let Something Out So Something New Can Come In
You cannot fill a glass that is already full. And after a long winter of holding it together, most of us are full. Of stress, unprocessed emotion, the low-grade hum of too much and not enough happening at the same time.
Spring equinox is a beautiful invitation to consciously release. This does not mean you need a ceremony or a ritual (though honestly, those are lovely). It can be as simple as writing down what you're ready to stop carrying and then setting that paper on fire. Or in a recycling bin. Both are valid.
You are not stuck. You are just full. Let something go.
That is the spring reset in action.
Choose One Thing to Move Toward (Not a List. ONE)
Spring has this way of making us think we need to overhaul everything. New habits, routines, new version of ourselves by April 1st or we have somehow failed the season.
One class per week. One morning you protect yourself. One conversation you've been avoiding. One dream you have been keeping small because the timing never felt right.
You don't need a full plan, need direction. The momentum builds when you move, not when you have it all figured out.
That is heart-centred leadership of your own life. Not the loudest or the boldest version. Just the more honest one.
The Divine does not require you have it all together. It just needs you to take one step.
There is magic all around us in this season. In the light lasting a little longer. In the ground waking up. In the fact that you're still here, still curious enough to read something that felt like it might help.
That is EVERYTHING.
Still Shores is here for the beginning again part. Whatever the season of life you're standing in right now, there is a door open on the shores. Come breathe, move, come home to yourself.
